    Out of the LABYRINTH

    23rd, 24th JULY 2026

    WELCOME MESSAGE

    Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 5th edition of PHOCUS Congress, held this year under the theme: ‘Out of the Labyrinth.’

Pulmonary hypertension still poses a dilemma in proper diagnosis, treatment and follow up in many patients. Symptoms are usually vague and nonspecific. Investigations are various requiring a relatively long time.

Moreover, diagnosis can still be elusive and even after diagnosis, the journey is not simple, as treatment adjustment and follow up can prove to be very demanding and require prudent dedicated care.

That is exactly why we chose this year’s theme, ‘Out of the Labyrinth,’ focusing on group 5 pulmonary hypertension where causes overlap, classification is difficult and management is not straightforward.

The ‘LABYRINTH’ reflects what we all face in daily practice with this puzzling group. Thus, we move from confusion to clarity, from scattered clues to clear pathway and from uncertainty to solid outcome.

PHOCUS has always aimed to be a practical guide through this maze. Our goal is to support physicians with focused discussions, expert debate on controversial areas, and real world tips that help in diagnosis, risk assessment, and management. In PHOCUS 2026, we place a special spotlight on Group 5 and bring together multiple disciplines to see the problem from different angles and find the most sensible way forward.

We invite you to participate actively, share your experience, and join the discussion. Together, we can help our patients move ‘out of the labyrinth’ toward earlier recognition, better decisions, and improved care.

We look forward to welcoming you to Cairo for an inspiring and high impact PHOCUS 2026.

    With warm regards,
